Whew

Well day two is over and so far everything is going along great. I haven't had any of the things they warned me about which is a great start. I included the picture of me attached to the table so that everyone can see what the treatment looks like. You can see that the mask covers my face but remember that it is very tight and does not allow my face to move at all. This is so that the lasers delivering the radiation can attack the exact spots of bad cells which get the needed killing. A quick thanks to Mike Esparza and Steve Ballinger (Riverside City Chaplain) for dropping by the house. It was great to chat with you. I know that Hallie really enjoyed meeting Steve and listening to him. Also thank you for the wonderful prayer, I really appreciate that fantastic event. As we get closer to Christmas hopefully everyone has completed all the crazy last minute tasks, shopping and events. This will allow everyone some special time to spend with their family and the people that they love. Remember this special time is a God given gift to spend wonderful moments together and share the joy of being with the people that are special to you.

Thanks for the updates, it is so great to be able to read them here and then don't have to ask Hallie all about it--but we can just talk and, hopefully, I can offer her encouragement. Hallie mentioned a book she is reading by a survivor of your type of cancer. Maybe you could add it to one of your blogs as I know some other people might be interested in his journey as well.
I, and many others, can attest this is the time to be thinking and spending time with loved ones. God's gift to each one of us is a gift, and that is why it is called "the present". We don't know what our "mission" on earth is, but be assured that God does have a specific purpose for you. Many of us don't know what it is until we can ask him personally, but I do believe that you are fulfilling one of his purposes by sharing this experience with other--people who may not need this at the moment, but someday will reflect and remember your courage. I am so blessed by reading this and seeing your courage and faith. Your journey has most certainly put a new perspective on this season. May God bless you all and may you feel His comforting arms around you--He is with you every step of the way.
Love to you all---Luanne
