Sorry I Have Been Gone...

Hey everyone! Sorry that I have not posted anything new in a month...Who knew Chemo would be so crappy.... Anyhow I started the second round of chemo in March and all was well during the week of Chemo and then well things went down hill from there. I guess the biggest thing is I have lost my taste buds and have no appetite. Of course those of you who know me know I was always good to eat.....So I have lost a few LBS and well Hallie, making up for my lack of food consumption, has added a few. Anyhow I had three weeks off and started to feel normal again and guess what it was time for more Chemo! So here we go again I did my April Chemo and now back to feeling crappy.....I am not sure how long this is going to last hopefully I can get used to the Chemo so that I can enjoy my food again.

Anyhow all is well with the family including our new four legged addition (more to come later).....Spring break has come and gone...Hallie is back at work trying to make it to the end and Hunter is back to baseball and when he is not playing he is watching any number of games (thanks direct T.V.). Now that I am home alone again I should have the opportunity to update my blog on a more regular basis. Just know that I am still fighting the fight and looking forward to many more posts in the future.

It's good to hear from you again. Too bad the chemo isn't agreeing with you. I continue to pray for you, Hallie, and Hunter. Should I be praying for the four-legged creatures, too? Hopefully I'll be seeing you soon.

Dear Eric;
I read about you and your battle with cancer in the Press Enterprise this morning. Your strong faith is your weapon against any enemy, and your sense of humor is a powerful medicine. My wife and I will be praying for you, that God will astound the medical world by extending your life and bringing Him glory. I was told in 1975 that I would die from the melanoma I had, but God intervened and eradicated the cancer and has used me ever since to proclaim Him. Our prayers will include Hallie and Hunter as well, for God's sustaining peace through the journey. God bless you, Eric. You are in my heart.

I was touched by today's article in the Press Enterprise. I will include you and your family in my prayers. I was glad to read about your faith in God. He is faithful to give you what you need throughout this ordeal. You are so right in recognizing His sovereignty.

Stay strong, and keep sharing your story - Liz

Amazing, you are such an inspiration. It seems like just yesterday you were talking to me at your old station 13.Your in my thought and in my prayers.

I hope everyone can read about you in the Press Enterprise. Would it be possible to down load it so that all of your supporters could get to read it? It was quite a story. I am sure that chemo can really zap you. The other day I was reading something from Focus on the Family, and with some modifications, it could fit you and your situation. You have to go through the crappy parts of life to appreciate the good parts of life. So, when you feel terrible, try and think about all of the great things you have experienced and realize that the bad times now are payment for the good times then.

As always, I love to hear from you. (If my husband made a remark like you did about Hallie--even if he were sick--I don't think I could keep from "whacking" him.)

May God bless you, all three. And congrats on the new addition to your family.

Love, Luanne

Eric,
Hang in there brother. Keep the fight and we will keep the prayers. Lord, We lift up the Bockin Family to you. Please Lord, give him the strength he and his family need to get them past round 2. Show comfort in his wife and son that they can be strong in this time of battle. We thank you Lord for putting Eric's story in the paper. This has touched many peoples lives. Those who don't even know him are now praying for him. Thanks for using him in your way. Lord we ask for your hand on his shoulder and help him win this fight. Lord we ask this in YOUR Name the Lord Our God. Amen.

Take care bro. As usual if you need anything please call.

Read about you in the P-E. Have been going through this same scenario with a close friend and wanted to let you know that you and your family will be in my prayers daily as you go through this journey.

As Forest Gump would say, CRAPPY is as CRAPPY does or something like that. Hey Eric it's Eric, you know the Camilla Husband :) This is a reminder just when you think things are tough and CRAPPY in our lives you look around and see someone else has a much larger challange. It appears you are all doing very well considering the challanges that have placed before your family and I am real proud to even know you guys. Keep your chin high, but watch out for low bridges.
